The Believer's Call To Action

Image result for prayer"We are hard-pressed in every side but not crushed; We are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not forsaken, struck down but not destroyed..." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9

In light of all that has been happening in our world today, hurricanes, monsoons, earthquakes, fires, shootings, mass murders - most recently the murders of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in the church shootings (the latest being the Sutherland Spring shooting that left 26 dead and several injured), it occurs to me that we, as the Body of Christ must do something! But what can we do?

Church, we must rise up and unite in this season. This unity was certainly important to Christ for He took the time to pray that we would be one unified body (John 17:21). This is really not a time to bicker and fight amongst ourselves, but a time of prayer, and I mean prayer! We must rise up, unite and pray like we've never prayed before! We must "avoid every stupid and foolish controversies and genealogies and dissensions and wrangling about the Law..." [Titus 3:9], and instead seek Abba's face and His heart, for if we, the Church humble ourselves and pray, and turn from our wicked ways, then God will hear from Heaven and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14). Nations are indeed in need of healing. Could it be that the lack of unity displayed in the Body of Christ is directly related to all that's been happening? Hmmm...definitely something worth pondering.

I mean, it certainly is easy to point fingers in this season, blaming this and that for the trying times we are currently faced with, but we the Church must do better - we must unite! Let's put aside childish behaviors and arguments that are futile and worthless. Let's stop being distracted by hurt, anger, bitterness and fear, and let's allow the peace of God rule and reign in our hearts, for "blessed are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they shall be called the Sons of God (Matthew 5:9). Church, in this season, as Sons and Daughters of the Most High God, we care called to be peacemakers and pursue what makes for peace, bringing this peace to a land thirsty for it. Yes, watch the news, be well-informed concerning all that is going on, and then pray. Prayer is definitely what is needed, for it is a powerful weapon against the onslaught of the evil one, thus, it is imperative that we get on our knees and pray.

We are conduits of the Light, and the darkness currently invading this land needs us to shine brightly! We must not block the Sun (Son) with our bickering and dissension when this earth, this nation needs it the most. We must allow Him shine through us by maintaining a heart that is free from anger, resentment, bitterness, dissension, worrying, fear, and the like. Hallelujah! Hallelu-YAH - God Shine!

Hallelujah! God shine! Shine through us, Lord, and help us see this hurting generation turn to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, our Lord and savior. This is our mandate...our call to action! Be peacemakers in this season and let Him shine brightly through us. Let the world see Him clearly, and respond to His call. Let's be conduits of His light!

Darkness will NEVER overcome the Light, no matter what it looks like! Please be encouraged, God is good, and He is in control, no matter what it looks like. Let's partner with Him! Seek His heart in this season.

A question to ponder: In what ways can YOU be a maker and maintainer of peace in this season?
